So you have mold... what now?
Being a SERVPRO® franchise that is licensed in mold remediation means that we at SERVPRO® of Flower Mound get quite a bit of phone calls that begin with “what do I do?” So I am here with the answers!
- We need as much information as you can possibly think of when you first call. This means how much mold you can see, what surfaces it is covering, how long has it has been there and where do you think the moisture is coming from that has caused the mold. The more we know, the better prepared we are to assist!
- Depending on how you answer we will either schedule an appointment to come and take a look for ourselves or we will advise you to call a mold inspector.
- The inspector will do just as the name implies, he/she will come to your location and test the air. This step is important because it lets you know just what kind of mold is present. The testing also give the inspector the information to put together what is called a protocol. Basically a step by step instruction manual telling a remediation expert, such as ourselves, what to do in order to pass the follow up test.
- After our work is done, the inspector returns to the property and tests again.
